Ken has been a member of the PEC+ team since 2000 as a Project Engineer and Intern while he pursued his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Southern Polytechnic State University (now Kennesaw State University). In 2005, he became a stockholder and is now a Principal and Chief Executive Officer.
As CEO of PEC+, Ken’s primary role is to keep the company's direction focused and collaborate on visions for project design ideas. His primary responsibility is the financial and administrative management of company functions, focusing on land planning and project due diligence. His approach to all projects is to spend time on the front end to understand the client’s mission and translate that mission into a critical path sequence of events that must be met for a successful project. He believes the front end of the project plays the most significant role in the overall project's success at build-out. Ken is very engaged with all staff and departments and helps ensure overall company collaboration.
Through the 20+ years with PEC+, Ken has designed, managed, and envisioned hundreds of projects throughout Georgia and across parts of the U.S. His early days as an intern with PEC+ were spent performing hydrology studies and construction plans for commercial projects across the country, including Texaco fuel centers and Home Depot. Through the years, Ken developed a philosophy that to be successful in site design, you need to understand all project aspects and markets, from industrial to residential to commercial and beyond. This foundation pushed PEC+ to become the organization it is today, staffed with diverse, multi-disciplinary employees capable of handling any role on any project.
Ken lives in Sandy Springs with his wonderful wife and children. He and his wife actively engage in their kids' sports, traveling across the eastern United States to attend games and matches. The family enjoys spending time with friends, traveling, and attending church services led by Andy Stanley. Additionally, Ken rides bikes for the Veterans Empowerment Organization Cycling team to raise awareness and funds for veterans, and he serves as the Vice Chair of the organization. He is also involved in the ACEC, the Council for Quality Growth, and serves on the school board for MVS.
